Our way - our life
We will not march back to what was.We will not listen to people
telling us what we have to do.
We will not compare ourselves
with others – just to feel accepted.
We will listen to our heart
and do what we love to do,
what excites us
what we think is good for us.
No one can stop us.
It’s our way – our life.
Just live and make your life great.
Solidarity
If only we darewe can share,
not thinking of ourselves alone,
our well-being, our homes.
We can live
as one community – let everyone be.
We can be a community
where every single man
and every single woman,
yes, every single child,
can be what they feel
they are meant to be.
We can speak together,
sing together and
fight together.
For there is
a time for everything
but nothing must divide us.
For that we have to listen,
to lend our ear to our neighbour,
no matter what colour, faith or social status,
regardless of their gender,
all that does not matter,
when people really gather.
When we lend our hands to each other
- and we can -,
when we see each other
- despite our masks –
and we ask:
How are you? Can I help?
Then a lot has been done
on our way to more calm,
to more peace amidst us
and within us,
to more quiet
where formerly unrest and conflicts prevailed.
Let’s also raise our voice,
as a conscious choice,
to speak up
for all those in need -
and instead of listening
to only some people’s creeds.
And let us begin today,
let us begin to seek,
to really get to know
and to sow the seed
of togetherness,
of true solidarity.
Light
Where can we find lightin this never-ending shade?
When lights are turned off
and hope gets lost,
we are breaking – again and again,
falling down – not only once or twice.
Where can I find
the path of my way?
How do I look forward to standing up again?
When all the wishes,
all ambition
and hope
risks to fade away?
Falling to the ground
and shattered into a thousand pieces,
in my inner emptiness,
where do I find happiness?
And loneliness, emptiness, hopelessness,
why do I feel these so strongly?
When everything is lost,
what remains is the last bit of hope
to stand up again.
Are you hit, fight back,
when you fall, stand up,
in this never-ending shade,
there will come a spark of light
that you will want to hold
and cling on to
and it will turn into
a beam of light.
You will suffer defeats
but you know,
there is this light,
which you can always get,
which you can always imagine
again.
The new dawn
The new dawn blooms as we free it.And free it we must.
On the cusp of a new sunrise.
Freed of the darkness of the pandemic.
And while systemic issues persist,
We insist and fight.
For we are all humans of the same kind.
And while the situation might seem dire,
It is the dawn of a new empire.
Where we rule with kindness instead of doing harm,
Standing like brothers arm in arm.
Where all shall be treated the same,
No matter their colour, race or name.
So as the sun starts to rise
It‘s up to us to open our eyes.
A dulcet song
We seek harm for none and harmony for all,Working together as the tones of a dulcet song,
No matter who we are,
No matter what we arev No matter where we are,
Whether we are rich or poor, big or small,
In fact, it´s the same we want for all,
But – and that is the key –
To get it all, we have to give it all,
We must stop closing our eyes,
Be respectful, open-minded and kind,
In order to live our lives in harmony.
On the way to unity
We seek harm to none and harmony for all.On the way to unity we might crawl,
but to come back strong and to never lose,
we must spread love, risk being bruised.
We will rise or stumble as one union,
leaving no one behind,
declaring war against division,
Putting disdain aside.
Finally winning
How could we possibly prevail over catastrophe?Isn’t that the question we all ask ourselves now?
But do we actually think about how?v About possibilities and hopes?
About the importance of community?
About everything that’s possible in overcoming
this disease?
We can defeat corona.
We can defeat everything
it brought to us.
But how we do it,
the way we do it,
is up to us,
depends on our behaviour.
Solidarity
is what we need,
we have to protect those whose are weak.
We can’t end this pandemic by denying
or by lying.
Yes, we need to do without many things
but isn’t it necessary to finally win?
Let mercy be
We seek harm to none and harmony for all, together we all shall rise from fall
as we follow freedom's call.
Let us unite and stray away from the force
seeking to divide
us, that we are brothers and sisters,
us, that we are allies, not adversaries.
We all shall put our hatred aside,
let mercy be.
Even upon those who complain, who loathe and act violently,
let mercy be.
And even if they don't agree,
with the way others look, speak and eat,
let mercy be.
For us and for those we shall put our hatred aside and see:
mercy can be.
Let us unite and stray away from the force
that always lied.
Promising to make America great, but only did so for a few.
Together let us strengthen the country and renew
the promises that were once made to all
as we follow freedom's call.
Full lives to live
Aflame and unafraidwe will meet each and every day,
knowing that if we set our minds free
from both internal and external constraints,
there is no such thing as fear and failure
but only love to share and our full lives to live.
Holding together
It’s because being American is more than a pride we inherit.Being American is more than just being it.
We have to strive for what we want to be.
Everybody, together.
Being American means holding together
and forging the country into a better one.
This is a major task that we have to put in
all of ourselves.
But it doesn’t mean that we should just
make the country a better place.
It also means that we have to make our community
a stronger and better place to live for everyone.
It has to be a place where everybody is welcome,
regardless of his skin colour.
Regardless of whether he is Asian or African or from another background.
Regardless of if he is different from the others.
We have to destroy the noxious bonds which grew in the past.
We have to act, now.
And I’m sure, I’m sure that we can.
I’m sure that this country is strong.
I’m sure that we can reach everything,
if only we hold together,
firmly and passionately.
Change
We will not march back to what was,But move to what is meant to be.
Because every human once sat
Peacefully under his tree.
There is a consequence for every action,
And every action has a past.
And the damage in some people’s minds
Is unthinkably vast.
So you must not judge any soul
In this tasty salad bowl.
Because if poisoned is what is
The vegetables’ soil,
The moral convictions will also be spoiled.
Fighting against that,
causing more grief
Will only consolidate people’s belief.
So act with kindness
And don’t give up what you think is true
Because the only person
To bring change into our world
Is you.
Simply unfinished
We lay down our arms in defeat and discoverThat we cannot reap what is sown
When the crops on the field are corrupted by people
Unknowingly sowing the seed that is fear
When cropping the wheat Destruction will be our Cutter
And Hatred the Scythe that we wield
As if it were our own
When we do not reap what is sown
When the peace is restored
And the hatred diminished
We lay down our tools in defeat and discover
That we are not broken
But simply unfinished.
Equal world
We will raise this wounded world into a wondrous one.We will improve this smashed world into an astonishing one.
We will grade up this ruined world into an idealistic one.
So that everyone has the chance to live in a world
where democracy prevails
and justice rules,
where racism is dead
and discrimination extinct.
Where everyone is allowed to say what he feels
and to be what he is.
Where peace is the authority to follow.
Zero tolerance
Where can we find light in this never-ending shadeWhen all that's left is hate
When my hope starts to fadev When it feels like I´m a slave
To the ones up high
Who feel important with their ties
Who decide who´s going to die
Always telling lies
But I will not accept that
I will not turn back
I will not let them make me feel small
And forget about them all
Staying strong
In this truth, in this faith we trustHoping for an end of the pandemic we go through
Hoping to get our normal lives back one day
Dreaming of living life in an easier way
There is a light at the end of the tunnel
A vaccine makes it possible to get closer to what we hope and dream of, these days,
Step by step
But for now we have to stay strong
To reach for the light and not just see it
By giving our best, we can even be it
